La sequenza di foto presentata è un’indagine su una porzione del paesaggio industriale confinante a ovest, sud ovest con l’area urbana di Firenze. Le immagini, per la maggior parte, sono state scattate da degli argini rialzati, costruiti a difesa degli insediamenti industriali dai corsi d’acqua una volta utilizzati per irrigare le coltivazioni originarie. Lo scopo dell’indagine è cercare di mettere in risalto la linea di demarcazione tra l’ambiente preesistente e la parte antropizzata, la loro reciproca influenza, e soprattutto l’equilibrio, quasi sempre inesorabilmente a favore della parte industrializzata.
The sequence of photographs presented is a survey of a portion of the industrial landscape bordering the urban area of Florence to the west, south-west. The images, for the most part, were taken from raised embankments, built to defend the industrial settlements from the watercourses once used to irrigate the original crops.
The aim of the survey is to try to highlight the dividing line between the pre-existing environment and the man-made part, their mutual influence, and above all the balance, almost always inexorably in favour of the industrialised part.
